NPDC – Let’s Go

Touch-points:

Background

Let’s Go is all about getting people in the New Plymouth district to choose walking riding or taking the bus over using cars for short trips. As the district continues to grow, NPDC know there will be increasing pressure on roads. NPDC Let’s Go is part of the transportation team who work alongside planners, engineers and behaviour change specialists to educate, encourage and develop ways for active travel.

Project

Since its inception over 10 years ago the Let’s Go brand needed to be modernised and refined. Strategy Collective had a discovery session with the NPDC Lets Go team were they shared insights on how travel has changed in the last 25 years. They made us aware of all the projects that they have within their portfolio and that the greatest objective is to encourage active travel. The logo design was refined and Strategy Collective proposed five short videos that bought to life how there are alternatives to getting to work, school and around and how uplifting this experience is when you choose this. The videos cover a range of age demographics and showcase cycling, walking, bus and even mobility scooters. All videos were generated so that these could be used on social media and inform part of the marketing collateral when NPDC Lets Go have their various events encouraging bus and rideshare, summertime rolls and fresh air challenge. The videos were also a great way to show the refinements with the new brand and help facilitate and leverage the current marketing calendar.
